We had a fantastic group getaway! The location was perfect for exploring the nearby Audley End House and enjoying some outdoor fun on the tennis court. Our room was comfy, and breakfast was top-notch. Just a tip for others, check the paperwork for after-hours access to avoid getting locked out.
Dinner service was a bit of a letdown as we felt rushed and the staff didn’t accommodate our request for drinks before closing.

The Superior Double Room features elegant beams and a chic modern bathroom that brings character to the stay. The bathroom amenities were top-notch, making it a comfortable retreat after a long day.
Parking is a hassle. finding a pay car park can add an inconvenient walk to your stay. The breakfast experience fell flat, as an impersonal note under the door informed us that the cooked options were off the table, leaving only a lackluster extended continental spread. Guests were also frustrated by the coffee quality, as the cup I received tasted more like hot water than an actual brew. There’s also noise from the street that can interrupt a peaceful night’s sleep, and the uneven service during dinner raised eyebrows. we waited far too long for our meals, which seemed to be a common complaint among other guests. Lastly, the lack of communication around check-in times and Wi-Fi availability was annoying.

I had a lovely night in a charming room with stunning old beams, and we thoroughly enjoyed a delicious outdoor meal. The garden provided a perfect spot to unwind with comfy seating, and there were games available to keep us entertained. The only downside was that the door to the ensuite didn’t close quite right, but it didn’t ruin our experience at all! 😊

Had a great time with the group! We enjoyed the outdoor tennis court and explored the beautiful gardens nearby. The breakfast was a standout, and our room was very clean. Just be mindful of shower pressure and check-in times.
One downside was the slow service when we wanted to order drinks after dinner. it took a while for the staff to attend to us.

Solo Traveler's Experience, Mixed Bag
The historical feel of the place was really something. the elegant beams and chic modern bathroom brought character. I also had a really comfortable bed – felt like a home after all the chaos.
It wasn’t exactly cheap, but I guess it's still acceptable considering the unique charm.

The room had character and was fairly clean, but the bed was cramped against the wardrobe, making it hard to access. Breakfast was the highlight. I loved being able to customize my full English. Staff during breakfast were lively and welcoming, creating a friendly vibe. Unfortunately, I faced issues at check-in where I had to seek assistance from bar staff amidst a busy evening. Parking was a hassle. I had to walk five minutes to a car park because the hotel had none available. Communication about parking on the hotel site needs improvement to avoid confusion. The pub area felt cold and uncomfortable, with no cozy seating available. the combination of good staff interaction and a hearty breakfast balances out the inconveniences I experienced, but access and comfort could be enhanced significantly.
